Always organize your paperwork and declutter the desk space

The key to having a clean office is to make sure that there is no mess on your desk. Make sure you’re keeping everything organized. A huge difference can be made by little things like filing away paperwork or storing it on desktop trays, then recycling it when it’s no longer needed, as well as taking used mugs and other utensils back to the kitchen at the end of the day to put in the dishwasher.

 

 

 

 

Clean the restrooms on a daily basis

Office toilets need to be cleaned every single day in order to ensure employee and customer safety. The toilets need to be scrubbed, the counters need to be wiped and the floors need to be mopped every day after working hours in order to get rid of all the bacteria which have been built up through the day.

But don’t worry because there are several cleaning tips and tricks out there that can help you to clean your kitchen in 10 minutes (or even less!). These tips and tricks won’t give you a deeply cleaned kitchen, but it’s an amazing daily exercise as it will ensure that your kitchen never gets unmanageable.

 

 

Step #1: Get all your products and cloths together

This is more important than you think it is: having all your cloths and products together will help you to clean everything a lot quicker. Make sure you’re having all the appropriate products to hand so that you don’t have to waste precious time sourcing the items you need to clean.

 

 

 

 

Step #2: Put rubbish straight away in the bin, don’t leave it in your kitchen

By checking the kitchen and throwing away rubbish, you will soon notice a remarkable difference in your kitchen. When you removed all the rubbish, you’re able to clean without any obstructions.

 

 

 

 

Step #3: Put everything away in the cupboards

Step #4: Fill your washing up bowl with warm soapy water

While your dishes are in your washing bowl to soak, use your time wisely and start wiping down all your surfaces. Step #6: Wash up your dishes by hand or use the washing machine

Now you need to wash the dishes that have been soaking in the washing bowl. This can be done by hand or by simply loading them into the dishwasher. In the perfect situation, the dishwasher has already been emptied in the morning but if not, this can be done during step 4.

 

 

 

 

Step #7: Sweep or vacuum the floor

Depending on how dirty the kitchen floor is, now is the right time to give it a quick sweep, mop or vacuum. Make sure that if you mop the floor that you leave enough time for it to dry, as otherwise, it will become dirty again.

 

 

 

 

Step #8: Take the bins out

During step #2, you’ve filled your bin up with rubbish, so always remember to empty the bins and to replace the bin with a fresh liner. By doing this, you will ensure that your kitchen will not smell dirty.

 

 

 

 

Step #9: Replace your towels

Congrats! You’ve almost finished your high-speed kitchen cleaning process. Now the finishing touches are important. Make sure you replace your dirty towels with a clean one. It will definitely contribute to a fresher-feeling kitchen.

How to clean your washing machine:

It’s good practice to leave the door open for a few minutes after removing a clean load to let the interior fully dry. This will help to get rid of the musky smell and keep it smelling fresh and cleaner. It’s also worthwhile giving the door and inside a quick wipe down with a cloth from time to time, particularly if you notice condensation or the first signs of mould. Washing machine mechanics also recommend leaving the soap tray pulled out to let it air-dry in-between washes. This can also prevent mold from accumulating. However, even with the best of intentions, over time, bacteria, mildew, and soap scum will build up and clog pipes and parts. This prevents your machine from running as efficiently as it could and can cause more serious problems further down the line.

Deep-clean a washing machine:

A good deep clean every once in a while will keep your washing machine running smoothly and happily for a long time to come. We reckon it’s definitely worth preventing problems with your washing machine because an out-of-action appliance means you’ll be spending a lot of time – and money – at your local launderette. The good news is, giving your washing machine a deep clean can be done using everyday products and doesn’t take long to do.

You will need:

  • 2 cups of vinegar
  • 1/4 cup bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/4 cup water
  • A sponge scourer

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mix the bicarb with the water in a bowl, and pop the solution in the detergent tray. Pour the vinegar directly into the drum and set the machine on its highest water temperature setting. When the cycle is finished, use the scourer to wipe around the opening of the machine. This will help remove any stubborn stains or residue. The drum of your washing machine is where germs tend to hide in the nooks and crannies. So even running an empty wash from time to time will also help.

If the detergent tray is particularly caked, you can remove it and soak it in hot soapy water before scrubbing with an old toothbrush. Don’t forget to clean the drawer cavity too. It’ll be spotless in mere minutes and your clothes will feel fresher instantly.

The filter:

the washing machine filter is usually located along the lower edge of the machine, behind a hinged cover. Check your user manual if unsure. Carefully free the emergency drain tube and place a bowl or pan on the floor below it. Unplug and allow any trapped water to drain off. Replace the plug, remove the bowl and lay a towel on the floor. Carefully unscrew or release the filter cover. Any trapped debris should run out with the trapped water, but check inside the cavity to be sure. Wipe around with a cloth, clean any components and replace the cover. Check again that you have replaced the cover properly to prevent any accidental leaks.

For a final sparkle, wipe the drum, outside the machine and around the seal of the door with a microfiber cloth soaked in a little vinegar. For best results, it’s worthwhile cleaning your washing machine every 2-3 months.

When you have a family and a busy lifestyle it’s hard to keep on top of things especially cleaning the kitchen. So here are some tips on how to give yourself a quick kitchen clean in around 12 minutes, to give you more time to relax.

Quick kitchen clean tips:

De-clutter:

Spend a minute or two removing clutter from the kitchen work surfaces including the washing-up. Stack the dishwasher, put items back in the cupboard and stash papers in a drawer.

Washing-up:

Remember to load the dishwasher and start the cycle, to save you time later. Having a few helping hands in the kitchen always helps but we know that isn’t always the case so to do bit by bit can always help. 

 

 

 

Kitchen Work Tops:

Wet a microfiber cloth with all-purpose spray and wipe countertops back-to-front, brushing crumbs onto the floor. If you have a certain worktop there are certain worktop sprays you can buy to give you that extra shine/ finish you need. If you find it hard-to-remove spots on the kitchen worktops or cooker, scrape them off with an old credit card or soak with soapy water.

Appliances:

Wipe the fridge, dishwasher and cooker with a damp nonabrasive cloth to prevent any stains.

Floor:

The golden rule is to sweep or vacuum the kitchen floor before washing it. Starting in a far corner and sweep your way out. Then, give the floor a quick once-over with a water-dampened microfiber mop, again working your way out.
